2 years ago vanmarcke was also nowhere in Flanders, but went head to hesd with Cancellara in Roubaix.

Conclusion: we have no idea if his form went downhill or it was justa bad moment.

With all this, his true shape is a mystery and nothing(Kristoff himself including) says, that he should be a factor in P-R. Same as last year, perfect performance in Ronde and than in P-R nothing special.

Kristoff punctured and crashed in and after Arenberg last year, and DNF. So we have never really seen Kristoff in this kind of form in Paris - Roubaix. But it's no doubt that in the past years RvV has been his favourite race of the two.

Yeah, puncture and crash in Arenberg. Chasing back to the front group (alone) he was hit by/crashed with a moto.

I am afraid that only crush can stop the "magic" duo PaoliniKristoff from taking this one PR. ;)

Looks like some rain on saturday to remove the dust as well. Pretty sweet weather the next 2 days.
On sunday cloudy with a nice breeze from the southwest, which means good weather for attackers.

The rain on saturday will hopefully make the pavé slippery. That will make for dome exciting racing!

I'm also expecting Demare to do well, already 12th last year.

The dude has had no luck lately. Keeps getting punctures which puts him out of contention. I'm afraid he'll have the same fate again on Sunday. Hope not though because he is on some good form. He just hasn't been able to show it.

Greipel is a legit shot though.

I would absolutely effing love it if the gorilla were to win.

Hope not Terpstra, he just seems a little… underwhelming to go down in history as back to back Roubaix champ.

Seems an open race with many contenders, but I'll just keep sticking my money on Sagan until he gets there. Hopefully he'll go on to be the megastar his past has shown he can be.

I don't know what to think about it, but German Eurosport mentioned Greipel has his eyes set on Paris-Roubaix. He was quite strong in RVV, so the form is there.

PR suits him so much better too

Demare was dropped like a stone in De Panne

Who are the bookies' favourites?

Obviously Kristoff is top favourite, but according to quite a few bookies here, Wiggins is 2nd top favourite (I live in Britain).

This is the order here http://i.gyazo.com/58ee52512ac484196f5a450798d7e77a.png

It's crazy that Wiggins is lower odds than Terpstra. They are riders that could potentially win it in a similar way (solo break in the last 10km), but Terpstra has actually done it before and has looked on great form recently.

Wiggins has never even won a one day race (except one national champs) and has done absolutely nothing this season.

The only reason why Wiggins has done nothing this season is because PR has been a major goal for him. He's focusing on one race and one race only, and that's on Sunday. So it's not surprising he's done *** all this year. His season comes down to Sunday and then the hour record attempt in a few months time. That's it. Those two things are important to him more than anything.

The English bookies overate their own, so the poor Brits will bet hard on them.

Wiggins has zero chances of winning and if it rains he may not even finish it.

I would not say ZERO but this is not a 1h track ride where it is (mostly) just about your power/skills.

Here, you need the stars aligned and quite a bit of luck to win P-R race. You may be the strongest and still finish way behind the winner.

You buried the lede. Joking aside, it seems wiser to target several cobbled races in order to actually win one because of all the complications that can occur. It would be amazing to see Wiggins win P-R (& hilarious to read the forum).

Paris Roubaix is a major goal for loads of riders. Everyone else though has tried to build to a peak through the cobbled season, honing their positioning skills and building form. Look at the winners in recent years; Terpstra, Cancellara, Boonen... they hardly disappear for a year then suddenly turn up and win PR. They are active and trying to win races throughout the spring.

Wiggins has taken a couple of turns early on in races, managed to fall off even when he was at the front, and then has given up as soon as the going became tough.
