Degenkolb to Quickstep next year. Nice leadout.

Quick step played their cards right.

What were they supposed to do?

Degenkolb was by far the strongest rider in this race.

Degenkolb with the smart riding and the win. By forum rules, former fans and sympathizers will start saying they dislike him approximately a week from now. Since he's now a bona fide big star.

Ugh Degenkolb. Not a fan.

Terrible tactics by some teams. Just leading in for Degenkolb, lol.

Not really. Degenkolb would have won if there was a group of 30 or a group of 4 at the end - the race was already up by then. He won the sprint by about 4 bike lengths.

Now the post mortem about how all the other riders in the race should've collaborated to stop Degenkolb winning

So this GT sprint train team suddenly has two monuments in a year :) But well deserved, Degenkolb, everything Kristoff can do he can do it too

Almost wish I skipped the monuments this year. Degenkolb, Kristoff, Degenkolb...my absolute worst nightmare.

Very much a deserved win for Degenkolb. Tight, tactical and at times boring race, but with very good last 25k. Also good that someone other than a Sky or Katusha rider won.

Why didn't Van Avermaet attack just before Stybar joined for example? Noone tried to beat Degenkolb in the last 5 or 6 km, except Lampaert for a few seconds.

Nice ride by Degenkolb, congrats. If Stybar or Boom couldn't win for my CQ team, I'd have been happy with any of GVA, Elmiger and Keukeleire.

Stybar should have attempted to attack after Yves (who rode very strongly).

I still don't understand why Etixx didn't smash the hammer when they had 6 riders in a break, it was far from the finish but they had the numbers....

When is a sprinter more than just a sprinter? When he is John Degenkolb!!! Kudos, nice solo move to make the front group and nice win.
