And we (eventually) add in the changes in the GC, Mountain and Point classifications to see what has happened the the projected points over those three days:

Quintana's leap in points is due to hi overtakingg Van Garderen for 2nd; Sagan and Pantano have decent points from rises in GC (51st to 26th and 25th to 19th respectively) as well as the stage points accounted for above.

As might have been expected, TJVG's race position couldn't last, and so neither could Amis Velo's position. He drops off the podium, and Hugo and Handbrake slide down the top ten, with Leadbelly and yours truly taking advantage.

If the main question of the race is "How can anyone catch Froome?", then I guess our rest day equivalent is "How can anyone catch DJW?"

It all depends, of course, on who might fall away in the last week.
If Froome were to withdraw tomorrow, it would make precious little difference to the table, mainly because all the top teams also have Quintana, who would benefit most, and they already have the accrued yellow jersey points.
If Quintana were to fail to get out of bed, most of the top ten would remain roughly where they are, but mid-table teams Vladimir and Joelsim would enter into podium contention.

Apart from Froome and Quintana, 3 other riders are near universal choices at the top of the table: Talansky is on 39 out of 45 teams, including all of the top 30, while Gesink and Frank are both on all teams in the top 7 except for AmisVelo, who has neither, and therefore has most to gain if either of them were to falter.

But if these five all keep their positions more or less intact, what other variables are there?
The selected riders other than those five for teams in the reckoning are (withdrawn riders in brackets):

DJW 1st
Fuglsang
A Yates
Teklehaimanot
(Nerz)

Kabete 2nd @ 35 pts
A Yates
Rolland
Ten Dam
Kudus

NairoQ 3rd @ 45 pts
Rolland
Ten Dam
Navarro
De Gendt

Tuart 4th @ 65 pts
Rolland
De Gendt
Arredondo
(Nerz)

Amis Velo 5th @ 90 pts
Does not have Gesink or Frank
Van Garderen
Soupe
Hollenstein
Vaugrenard
Chavanel Séb
(Basso)

The dangers to DJW seem to be either Fuglsang sacrificing himself in a big way for Nibali, or a successful break for Rolland. Amis Velo has all his remaining eggs in the Van Garderen basket, which is only likely to get emptier.

Beyond the immediate challengers, a stage win for Kelderman could raise Geraint Too Fast and Shalgo into podium contention, and a Champs Elysees win for Cavendish would bring Leadbelly up there too (and if combined with a Gesink disaster, would make him likely winner).

But the closest challenger is in fact the Collective Wisdom team: a top three place on a stage for Rolland would put that team in first.

Overall
The top four remain unchanged, all having had a good result today, while Leadbelly moves up 3 places and into podium contention, especially as he has the Cavendish potential for Paris. Handbrake and Yellow Knight have also had 3 place rises to get into the top ten, but Comodoro's 5 spots saw the biggest positive place change. I shall take great pleasure in telling Amis Velo tonight that he has fallen 22 places from 5th.

Will be exciting to follow today! I think me and Kabete gained a few points relatively, thanks to Rolland, and I gained some relative to Kabete thanks to A. Yates worsening. I think it's really close between the three of us, didn't calculate though.

Stage 21 Paris at last

The balance between cost of best sprinters and the number of stages they were likely to feature in meant that they were rare picks.
GREIPEL André 80 0 team
COQUARD Bryan 50 1 team (Jancouver)
KRISTOFF Alexander 35 0 team
BOASSON HAGEN Edvald 25 0 team
DEMARE Arnaud 15 0 team
CAVENDISH Mark 10 14 teams
SAGAN Peter 5 1 team
DEGENKOLB John 3 0 team
MATTHEWS Michael 2 1 team
NAVARDAUSKAS Ramunas 1 0 team
No 20 point bonus for Froome today.

Jancouver got 50 points, the 14 teams with Cavendish got 10, and so on...

And changes in the classification points were even fewer: none in GC or KoM, and gains of 5 pts and 1 pt for Coquard and Krisstoff, and equivalent losses for Froome and Plaza, and that's it.

Final stage+jersey (formerly guaranteed) points:

I think this is the best possible team:

Plaza
Frank
Pauwels
Gesink
Talansky
Froome
Quintana
Rolland
Vuillermoz

A total of 3243 points for a budget of 3944.
None of us selected Pauwels or Vuillermoz, and only one selected Plaza.
The other 6 belonged to our collective wisdom team.
Thomas De Gendt, Adam Yates and Daniel Navarro are our collective disappointments.

Thanks a lot AC. Much appreciated!

Am regretting the decision not to include any riders from the season CQ game. If I'd had the easy pick of Gesink, would have been 5th, grrr. Will abandon that rule for the Vuelta, as my season CQ team is complete toilet

Looking forward to the Vuelta game. Should be much more unpredictable

Thanks for running the game AC, congrats to Kabete and all the managers fighting for the win. All my riders except Basso scored, all but Quemeneur more points than just finishing. I'm pretty happy with Plaza, I hoped he would make on one or two stages the top ten, turns out he was my best pick.
