Boom won't win that's for sure. Unless Astana leave the MPCC right now.
That won't help their credibility though...

I don't think Dumoulin will win though. It's a course for Martin or a trackie like Dennis.

Not the best position there for Contador, 1 minute ahead of Froome. 10 years ago yesterday on an only slightly longer opening TDF tt Armstrong caught and passed Ullrich.

That's amazing, Flo can just wait till Contador is past before throwing spikes on the road

Why did Quintana chose to start so early???

Is he betting on some rain? I guess he knows he is going to loose some time anyway so why not start early.
he's obviously starting early because of thunderstorms and wind

Quintana obviously has better weather forecasts than everyone else.

A fully fit Quintana equipped with superior weather forecasts may well limit the damage to 30 seconds tomorrow.

Re:

Laughable. Here is this guy with a reputation well beyond his palmares, widely regarded in the same breath as multiple GT-winners, actually plan his starts after weather forecasts. Like i said against the presented excuses after Route du Sud, tarot cards, planet positions and the Oracle of Delphi are next in line for the emphatetic colombian.

Froome starting 1 minute behind Contador in a prologue like time trial? Might just be a Lance Jan moment.
None of the big four this year are as undisciplined as Jan was. How did he come so out of shape to the beginning of some of the Tours is beyond me!

Jan went through the back end car window the day before that prologue.

He won the Giro and got 2nd in the tour, similar palmares to Froome... The only 'multiple grand tour winners' in the current peloton are Contadar and Nibs (and Basso, I guess). IMO Quintana has shown both consistency and tenacity these last few years and has earned his spot in the discussion.

I think Dennis is a real dark horse for this course today. Although the early start will influence the way he looks at the race, his time trialling and hour record training should hold him in good stead.

Got to go with Martin - Dumoulin - Cancellara as the top 3, probably Froome 4th and Contador & Nibali in the top 10 and only a handful of seconds behind Froome. Quintana to lose a bit more time but nothing to write home about.

Lovely that Astana has this other belgian classics gut to throw in instead of Bååm, Van Otti. /hurrdurr
