Impressive. Nibali, who most here rated as an inferior TTer compared to Contador and Froome beats them under the same conditions. He continues to surprise.

3 dutchies in the top 10, as predicted by Miburo. Not sure if you were trolling about it, but it happened :)

Wind must have changed at the end. Nibali and quintana definitely did good.

Contador and froome failed but could have been worse, especially contador

Froome and Contador were riding at the same time :D
(unless you mean relatively to those departed early on)

Wow -- how did Pinot get the jump on all the other favorites?
Wind was extremely important. Pinot, Quintana and Nibali are the winners of the ITT

So because Nibali beats Quintana with 18 seconds, he is now the strongest? Please, you can conclude very little about the riders mountain shape after this TT. The biggest margin in the big 4 is 18 sec. That is not a lot.

Its an out and back course - lead riders would have had tailwind at the start anyway. I don't think Dennis would have been beaten even with standard condtions.

Weird TT. Quintana has either improved immensely or the wind shift was significant. Contador was surprising, but Froome was shocking. Nibali the most solid, while Quintana helped himself today.

...Yep. ;)

Happy for Pinot. The wind must have changed toward the end. Good day all around. I wouldn't mind seeing Froome, Quintana, and Contador with 1:30 or 2:00 to make up on Nibali in the mountains. Would make for spectacular racing.

1’01 by Quintana is already a lot. I bet it will be between 45-60” with the other fabulous three
I will take under 45 seconds. Avatar bet?
??
If Quintana finishes less than 45 seconds down on all of the other big 3 I choose an avatar for you, if not you choose an avatar for me until end of the Tour?
Ok, done!
Let me think about this one for a minute :)

Common Concord... just take a taki to the next petrol station and buy a bottle of Moet... Thus spend the money wisely. ;)

Obviously the earlier guys like quintana. Hard to believe froome only took 10 sec on quintana.

But nibali is in monster shape.

I agree, allthough the times from Contador/Froome were poor, but maybe they simply rode a poor TT.

How in the name of God will Nibali put nearly 2 minutes into them before the mountains?

Nibali ahead of Froome is surprising. Didn't like Alberto at all in the TT, but 8 seconds from Froome is still less than one second per k, which means he's in line with the first TT performance at the Dauphine last year. Still he didn't look smooth. Quintana road well. Nibali, of course, won the first round. This will give him super confidence for the cobbles on stage 4.

The way he did it last year?
