There will be rain in Rotterdam. Wanted to watch the sprint but now I'm not sure.

TdF 2015. took that pic at the 1km to go sign. Anybody see that little red/white band top/right?! Means crosswind!!

Funny thing about this shot is that it is hazy…haze and mean winds really don't go together at this time of year - sea frets in autumn or low cloud, but hazy is a lingering humidity thing with little wind to stir it. The slightly heavier bit of string seems to be hanging vertically downwards without too much trouble. And the sea has not a single white crest of any description.

Not seem the live pics, but hardly blowing. Were the turbines turning?

they are going through the rain starting from 3:30, they said the wind would pick up within the storms so anything interesting will probably only happen after the rotterdam intermediate sprint.

Cancellara to neutralize the stage

The funny thing is that he would do that if he wasn't in contention for the yellow jersey. Hopefully someone turns the tables on him and neutrilizes the stage. :D

I love France 3's pre-race coverage "Village Départ". I am learning a lot about Utrecht, Dutch food and cycling customs. I gotta say, in terms of what we call "soft mobility", the Netherlands is decades ahead of any other european country. I had no idea Utrecht was such a beautiful city. I think they did a great job with the Grand Départ, less flashy and over-the-top than in England which I appreciate. Proficiat!

Great start in Utrecht, nice and hot with barely any wind but that will hopefully be different out on the course. There were rain clouds out in the west/ South-west but they have moved on that direction.

I'm expecting Trek to do something today, either in the cross winds or with Cancellara pulling a late attack.

Why was Frome positioned dead center in the front and not Nibali? So much media focus on Froome in the neutralized section of the grand depart one would think he had won the itt and last year's Tour. This is in Universal/NBC's coverage.

I noticed that. They said that Nibali gave his spot to a local teammate but neither Nairo or Alberto were in the front row either.
