I'm not to familiar with Machado, is he known to be a trusted domestique or is there a risk he saves himself for his own abitions?

No, he is not a GC men for three weeks. Good rider for races like Bayern Rundfahrt, Algarve and Paris-Nice. But top-15 in the Tour is not possible for him.

Often a captain in smaller one-week races but a helper in GTs. In the mountains the Katusha train will be Losada -> Machado -> Caruso -> Purito.

But I bet you are hoping for rain showers, Arredondo. Haven't you noticed how brilliant Purito is in the rain? (Lombardia 2012+13, Tirreno-Adriatico, Worlds 2013, the Valdelinares stage in the Vuelta). He is also good when it's snowing.

Really good point. But when i made that point, some members were disagreeing with me ;)

Purito himself said in interviews he doesn't like rain because it creates dangerous racing-circumstances, but he knows he's really good in it. So yes, i hope we will get some hard racing in rainy conditions.

But not too much rain please, because we should be able to see it :p

Really? ;P For me, it's not a real Grand Tour if there isn't a day with a lot of chaos. The Extreme Weather Protocol works better as toilet paper than as a law.

Cameras destroyed by water, obscured clips in the rain, quick cuts from one fragmented group to another, bewildered bikers on motorcycles trying to film the scenes and filming from the finish area because we don't what's going on. I love that shiat. Not all the time, but a couple of times in fine with me. :D

Of course purito has a chance but you said based on strenght. And no, in the perfect world where no one crashes purito will never get a podium. But don't worry, people will crash and have bad luck, definitely in the tour.

But of course, if your country has really bad commentators, it could very quickly become a living nightmare.

i hope cavendish wont win a single stage!

Well with his main rival out unless he crashes or gets injured (not impossible) the others are going to have to put in something special to stop Cav getting 3/4 stages here. Greipel always manages to beat him once for a stage perhaps Kristoff can too.

No Kittel?
Okay this will be the best gt ever :D . Seriously I am normally never happy when someone can't race somewhere but Kittel is just the most unspectacular racer ever

Ever seen Gerrans Simon?
About twice a year I see him with 100 metres to go

Also, Cavendish is harder to get off than Kittel. Unlike Kittel, Cavendish is kinda good in the crosswinds.

Katusha is finalized on procyclingstats.
Rodriguez
Kristoff
Losada
Caruso
Paolini
Kozontchuk
Haller
Guarnieri

Why isn't Moreno there?

It has already been discussed a bit in this thread two pages back ;)
To me it seems like Kristoff and Purito more or less could handpick three helpers each. At least Alex said to the Norwegain media a month ago that he wanted Haller, Paolini and Guanieri and he got all three. Kozuntchuk is a proven man to do the dogs work on the early part of most stages, and Machado might have been chosen ahead of Moreno for the TTT?

Sorry I somehow skipped that page.

Link? If so, it's kinda strange that he would pick Machado over Moreno.
