2015 tour d'france stage 10: Tarbes › La Pierre-Saint-Martin

Page 48 - Get up to date with the latest news, scores & standings from the Cycling News Community.
Froome win today as expected.

Today all the riders that had some problems in the first stages, or just are pure climbers or just are not goofd with hot weather, pays a little...or a lot.
Froome is the best rider tody in cycling, but Quintana will have better stages for him, today wanst an stage for pure climbers, after first week and with just one climb, so froome is big favourite, but we have race with Movistar.

Not so amazing already Yates, becouse was strong all the year, but impresive Domoulin.

And Thomas that looks as a new Valverde. Valverde didnt climb very well at the begining and now is a rider to climnb with the best, to do a good ITT, to shine on the cobbles, etc...

Even if I was a Froome fan I would be saddened by today because its killed the yellow jersey competition.
On the other hand it was maybe the best TDF stage of this decade.

While the race for GC is over at least Froome will make a show of it rather than just riding it home. Amazing stage for sure, though will kill a lot of peoples excitement. Was a really fun watch though.

Wow what a stage! I had a feeling Froome would try something, but that was a massacre. Of course Nibali and Contador being off the boil makes things look more dramatic, but that was still impressive.

Well Contador tried the double and didn't work out, but Nibali should drop off and try to salvage the season (Worlds, Lombardia).

Forgetting the Sky freakshow for a moment, Gesink was actually exceptional today, attacking 11k out and in the end losing only half a minute to Quintana. Maybe the most surprising result of today actully. Although obviously overshadowed by what happened ahead of him.

Indeed it was an awesome performance by him!

Michael Matthews finished at 26.27

Are you guys serious or just looking for a reaction? Pull out of the race because Froome had a great stage? Good grief...

Nibali is completely out of form, Froome has nothing to do with it, of course for Alberto was a strong possibility trying the double.

Not that I can imagine anyone competing with a Froome like this anyway.

Yes but quitting a race because you can't win it in the beginning of the second week is lame IMO.

What is the alternative tho? Riding for second place? Dropping 20 minutes and going for stages? Are those options any less lame?

Though froomes & sky's performance were amazing this was a perfect stage for them, good weather and a flat run in to a single climb. Remember what happend on stage 9 2013, Movistar need to do the same again. Contador looked weak from the start, even worse than in 2011 & 2013.

Of course they are. Finishing 2nd in the Tour and/or winning one or more stages is a hell of a lot less lame than quitting early in the second week.
