In Canada, milk comes in bags, and flag men are orientation confused.

Ok, on replay, the riders ignored the flag men, but there were some cars that went straight instead of turning.

Let's wait for the jury decision. Stage is Hansen's, nobody is taking that away from him. Time for GC likely to be the gap by the time disaster hit.

That would move Hansen up to around position 10 in GC. How could they justify that after misleading the peloton and then having them soft pedal to the line? Thereby taking away the chance to reel him in?

Anything else would be unfair to Hansen, too, so... I don't know. Have to wait.

What is going on? Hansen now leading GC by over 3 minutes according to PCS.

That's provisional times. PCS hasn't yet taken into account that it was neutralized.

Edit: Jury decides that GC stays the same. Hansen's effort only counts stage wise.

Mollema came 2nd in the pack, 3rd overall, according to pcs has been given 4 bonus secs. Surely that has to be taken away as could be crucial.

All of today's stage is on a circuit? So they should be able to find the way...

BTW: Is it true that Norman attacked because he was cold and wanted to finish?
(Yes, I call him 'Norman'. That's what he's usually called in Denmark.)

Arndt! Nice lead out by Giant. That was almost a seated sprint, Matthews and Wippert couldn't come from behind.

Robert Mollema wins. This means more Dutch Canadian domination next week.

Kneel before the Great One.

ps: this would give such a great avatar.

Next year the organizers should hook up with their friendly neighbors to the South and include the Going To The Sun road in Montana:

And finish up the Akamina Parkway in Waterton:

Not as steep and as switchback-y as the great European climbs but as spectacular if not more so in scenery.

US national parks normally don't allow professional races in them - the Tour of Colorado wanted to include the Rim Rock Drive for years but didn't succeed. No way they open such a precious gem as the Going-to-the-sun road for a cycling race, as this would mean the de-facto closure of the park - it's the main thoroughfare.

Waterton would be a spectacular setting, but it's a long way from anything. I've just been there and it took me ages to drive from Calgary to the park. There's also not enough lodging available in the area.
