I think it's a silly decision too, but why would you blame Quintana? Of course he is gonna make a gesture, every rider in the peloton would do that if they were forced to swerve to the side and brake to avoid crashing even if the sprint was lost already

Who's blaming Quintana? It's the organisers that have **** in their eyes

No. Not if you already lost the sprint. Every normal cyclist who knows something about sprinting would not complain afterwards.

He wouldn'tve made it anyway, but that sprint was abdoujaparov-esque from zakarin
Or a la Nacer :D . Tough call. Closing the door is as old as sprinting, it's hard to draw a line. Still a very good operation for both. FDJ looked good, but I expected a little better from Tibopino. Dawg obviously is out of shape, and Spilak coming back in the main group keeps him in the mix.

Meeh, don't be so hard on TiboPino ! I find it great that he is still in the mix for final overall ! As we have seen, he worked pretty hard to respond to many attacks and to close the gap with Quintakarin. I still have faith :)

All the bitching in this thread... Regardless of whether he would've won or not, he did something that deserves to be punished. Being relegated to second seems fair in that light. So, no, maybe Quintana didn't deserve the win; but that's not here or there. Zakarin deserved to be punished and he was.

That Colombian dude gets rewarded for being a **** sprinter!
I am angry now. If Quintana has any decency he goes to the jury and asks them to reverse the decision!!

Normally I think they dq to little in sprints but this was not at all relevant here, and even before this Quintana tried to block Zakarin 10 times. Horrible decision.

So are you bitching because he complained or because Zararin was punished ?

I do for overeacting, sure, but mostly for filling a claim after clearly losing the sprint.

Because it's pretty clear that Movistar has done that or else no decision would've been made. Nevertheless, it's obviously the judges fault.

Nairito did protest as he felt cheated by Zakarin ....

BUT

Nairito wasn't going to out sprint him anyway so...

AND

Zakarin didn't need to recur to that stupid manouver to get the stage.

Nairito got the reward :)

Are you kidding me? Why would he do that? What a ridiculous idea is that? How does the jury's decision have any bearing on Quintana's decency?

I really don't understand what are oyu all complaining about. He crossed Quintana's line in a horrible (and stupid) way and he was rightly DSQ'ed. Secondly such a rider shouldn't be allowed to ride at all, but this is for another part of the forum where am I going to now.

What ridiculous comments saying its Quintana fault or that he should go to the judges and reverse decision
Judges are impartial whether its in your favour or against and thus cannot be influenced

I think the judgement is wrong but its not anyone's fault

Lot of Quintana haters coming out of the wood work
