Zakster for Giro win
It's going to be the 1994 Giro 2.0, the champion who has already won multiple gts vs the new mountain goat vs the new Russian sensation. :cool:

Come on, Im not particularly fan of Zakarin but you can't ask for relegation here. He obviously tries to close his angle a bit but :
-Quintana had enough space left
-He had already outsprinted the Colombian

But such a terrible style on a bike haha

Nairo whiner. He already lost that sprint. No need to complain.

Grande Illnur!! He and Mikel will give the best nuclear fight of the last 30 years in a GT!!!!

Yeah, you're right.
Zakarin = Soviet Froome.

So with Ion being eventually strong enough to remain in the favorite group, what was Movistar on about today? Going for GC 1-2?

If these were two sprinters instead of two GC riders, everyone would be rightly calling for Zaka's relegation. No reason why we should have a different standard for GC riders.

I wouldnt overestimate Zakarin for the giro. He also won Romandie last year.
Yeah, but last year he was peaking for Romandie and race the Giro (his first GT) as a learning experience, this year it's one of his big goals and he'll be riding for the gc.

He wouldn'tve made it anyway, but that sprint was abdoujaparov-esque from zakarin
Or a la Nacer :D . Tough call. Closing the door is as old as sprinting, it's hard to draw a line. Still a very good operation for both. FDJ looked good, but I expected a little better from Tibopino. Dawg obviously is out of shape, and Spilak coming back in the main group keeps him in the mix.

At this time Zakarin looks to be the no1 favourite for the title. He looked stronger even than Quintana on the climb. In the TT tomorrow he should take some time on Quintana. We'll see. Spilak showed weakness again. He is not as strong as he was the last few years. But this was already evident in P-N and P-V. Hopefully he'll reach top condition in Tour de Suisse. I'm confident he'll do better tomorrow and the day after though.

Quintana of course is the leader of the team and it was no certainty that Izagirre would be able to follow. Quintana had to try and take as much time as possible on the chasers.

Zaka relegated to 2nd place. I agree that he needs to learn to ride a bike, but Quintana being a *** here
