I agree with this was not fair, Zakarin didnt do anything which prevented Quintana to be able to win this stage!

So with Ion being eventually strong enough to remain in the favorite group, what was Movistar on about today? Going for GC 1-2?

I'd say they wanted to place Quintana as far from his rivals and bet for him in the overall GC, I mean it seems logic to me, he's their leader here. At the end of the day, they have still Izaguirre well places before the ITT where he can do well.

If these were two sprinters instead of two GC riders, everyone would be rightly calling for Zaka's relegation. No reason why we should have a different standard for GC riders.

It's really case specific, on this one I am just saying that I would not as the sprint was already over.

EDIT : Never mind I have just seen the DSQ-1 decision. Stupid to me but word !

I think it's a silly decision too, but why would you blame Quintana? Of course he is gonna make a gesture, every rider in the peloton would do that if they were forced to swerve to the side and brake to avoid crashing even if the sprint was lost already

BTW, where did you see that news?

Way too harsh IMO.

Edit: I read DQed. Relegated? Still a bit harsh...but a close call...

Very harsh decision, but also quite stupid by Zakarin. He would have won regardless, so why do that?

Wow, what a horrible decision. Yes, he moved a little to the right but there was plenty of space for Quintana anyway. If Quintana hadn't whined in the sprint, I wouldn't have noticed anything at all.
