I'm not sure what to think about froome. Yesterday he was way worse but its possible that he just didnt try anymore after he was dropped. Today however I'm pretty sure he gave everything he had and still he only finished at the same time as Quintana. I didnt find his weakness in races like Catalunya strange because he just wasnt in shape yet but Romandie usually is his first peak and while he was always very good in this race in the last years this was also a race where riders like Quintana already became a bit weaker. Of course it's possible that Froome just has a very different buildup this year, but I don't really see a reason why they would do something different than in the last years so could this actually be a sign that Froome just isnt that good this year.

I re-watched yesterdays stage, and at least to me, it looked like he could and should have made in back into the group fairly easily. He was spinning a very small gear it seemed and never really gaining (sort of in limbo), then he pulled the chute. Like you, I expected him to be better here and I think this indicates he's not very good. I know others will wade in with his objectives are TdF (they are every year) and the Olympics, but that's true for all of the contenders who have fared much better in the first half of the year. Something is off with his training IMO.

Yeah it's a bit worrisome

What's up with Cannondale?

Uran needs to improve his TT. He looked slim couple of months ago, now he looks chunkier. Hope he doesn't get the Betancur illness!

Their TT performance was really embarassing today. I don't understand how Uran could lose twice as much time to the winner as the worst of other riders who were in contention for top10 in GC... apart from Formolo and Rolland, of course.

Stage winner of tomorrow: Chris Froome.

I wouldn't doubt it so long as he has the legs: He's so far behind in the GC that they can afford to let him go, although they may decide to keep him in check just to stunt his pride.

Rigo is a hardworking cyclist. The Betancur ilness was just laziness and Urán ain't the sluggish kind.

I'm about to give up on Rigo.

But you didn't give up on Betancur. Where's the logic in that?

Betancur didn't give a *** about anything, Rigo just looks likes he has declined massively. He wasn't much better last year with Etixx.

He was 4th on the stage yesterday, hardly a fatty :p
But very poor TT, surprising

I can't believe that I'll be driving when the stage takes place tomorrow  . I hope that I miss this:

Different Col de la Croix, same outcome?

I believe, I believe, I believe ;)

He did a decent second part. if anything happened in the first part, it is a poor one, yes, the route was very good for him.

But he get the line quite rested, when he give everything he is very ugly at the end, similar to Aru, but not today.

Tomorrows stage should be good. Profile reminds me a lot of AdH. Action from the bottom methinks

Here's the final climb:

The first 14km are AdH-like, and then 4 more km, tough, to the line. Nairo-Pinot 1-2 or 2-1. Advantage Nairo obviously. There should be gaps.

What surprised me most about todays result is Chris Froome...not long ago he would wipe the floor with every other GC contenders in a TT, even at this time of the year

Losing to TiboPino and same time as Quintana does not look great...I know there is time to go before the Tour but his TT was always that much better ..Must be that the other 2 just improved er ...well they are younger and had time to target

This year Froome will lose time to Quintana in the mountains ...needs a better TT

that's not the right profile though. They don't go to the top, and as far as I can see it's from the wrong side anyway. This one should be accurate:

But will the stage take place as planed at all? Weather looks fairly bad, with rain and temperatures around 2-3°C

I don't know what have you been watching for the past year. Last year in Romandie, when he looked way stronger in the mountains in a TT that suited him:

Also the opening TT of the Tour:

Look where is Froome, look where is Pinot, look where is Nibali, look where are some other GC contenders/pretenders.

I don't know how can you (and by you I mean in general) expect a rider that is usually a great climber and couldn't follow 30 riders uphill the day before to destroy the opposition in the ITT the next day. Actually I was surprised by his performance. I think it shows he's made a step up in his TT this season compared to last year.

If I'm not mistaken today's final climb is the one where Froome and Spilak destroyed the field in 2014, gaping the first group of Nibali, Costa, Intxausti and Fuglsang I think more than a minute on the climb. I don't know if they are climbing it from the same side though.

Exactly my feelings, looks like his peak is gone, otoh he can still win races or I hope.TT should be his strenght tho

Well my point remains...he was much better in 2012/2013 at TTing...not an issue in Tour 2014 and in 2015 he had a big enough lead over Quintana by Alp d'Huez....needs a better TT imo to hold Quintana , etc off in 2016
And if he couldn;t follw riders day before that in itself isn;t good...but I was lead to believe it was a mechanical that kept him back.. You seem to want it both ways ..he can't follow climbers but his TT shows a good performance

Check the official profile on the OP, the start of the climb is in Ollon., not Bex.
