I think any crash that happens in the last 3km, then the rule should directly apply. Then again i think the rule should always be applied, even if there's no crash.
I timed Contador at 9s back from EBH, and Froome 2s back from EBH. There was a gap between Froome and the rider in front, but not a full 1s gap between Froome and the rider in front. So yes, the gap was 9s, not that I think that's how gaps should be timed but it is what it is
Gallopin again![]()

It might shift the whole Sky tactics on Saturday, towards conservative racing.

I actually agree, although I'm sure if Sky sense a weakness in Porte or Contador tomorrow they will go for it.
Come on, the man is 1.30m its very easy to overlook him.hrotha said:Poor Samuel Dumoulin, he's been around and getting results since literally figuratively forever and people forget about him as soon as some other Dumoulin makes it.
I agree that Landa is a bit over-rated and still has a few things to prove; but he's got much more potential than Porte, and, indeed, he's already surpassed Porte's GT performances despite being five years younger. One podium and three stage wins, including two epically hard 'queen stages' puts Little Richie's record to shame.Wantington Jr. said:Once again Landa loses time on a flat stage due to inattentiveness or simply not having the legs. Much is made of his move to Sky and his participation in the Tour but he'll flop big time.
Landa is just the new LRP and Froome will be as isolated as ever unless Thomas is as strong as last year. That I have more faith in Thomas than in Landa shows that Astana will be the really strong team tht will rip the Tour to shreds.

Sorry Pricey. I don't see any Sky leutenant going in the Maddeleine with Froome in the leader's jersey.
If Froome proves superior tomorrow, they will just ride tempo and until half of Meribel....and I don't want that.
We have yet to see Landa in the mountains with Froome, but I have no doubt he will be far better than Porte for multiple reasons. For starters he has proven himself over 3 weeks while helping a team leader. He is a better climber than Porte and can be used to neutralize attacks from Alberto or Quintana, as an long range offensive weapon or just to set the tempo. To finish he can take over from Froome if he crashes because he has the leadership personality and mental strenghth lacking in porte and Thomas. I honestly believe if Froome crashes out or flops in the tour, landa will cause caos throughout the third week maybe enough even to win it.Wantington Jr. said:Once again Landa loses time on a flat stage due to inattentiveness or simply not having the legs. I guess I have a hard time keeping track of what Domoulin is. Is he a Time-Trialist now? Or is he a GC man.
Okay, he is a sprinter now. Got it.

Landa's Tour preparation has not been ideal, so a failure to deliver at the Tour wouldn't be very informative, but it will mark the first he goes up against the very best climbers in the world at their best. Will be interesting.Ramon Koran said:We have yet to see Landa in the mountains with Froome, but I have no doubt he will be far better than Porte for multiple reasons. Landa will shine for a day and then he'll be nowhere to be seen the next two mountain stages. He simply lacks the stamina to perform well over 3 weeks. Been there, seen that. Sky look great on paper but on the road they're all over the place like a flock of pigeons.rick james said:Wantington Jr. said:Once again Landa loses time on a flat stage due to inattentiveness or simply not having the legs. when working for Froome, Landa will have a job to do in the mountains, not the flat stages, he is free to lose all the time he wants
