I have never ridden an Alpine type of climb, no, but I still don't buy the argument of confidence when you are in the red zone, whether you are defending or attacking. It simply comes down to your aerobic performance, IMO.

I don't know if noted before, but BMC will split up and send TJ to Suisse.

yeah, I must say watching groupies trying to theorize why Froome or Contador will crush everybody else is quite funny...

for sure there will be extra polls kind of 'Who will win the Tour?' with predictable arguments at hand shortly. 'froome to crush the whole competition', 'alberto contador will win this bike race _O_'... it really makes me chuckle. apparently people sincerely believe that suchlike predictions bring the desired result closer to the actual result.

Mental side is part of this science :)
Try to do a 10k climb (at least 5% imo) and go full gas, do it in various state of mind (in short period of time in order to not increase your form ) and you will see.
Yeah,I know you are from Denmark :D (go somewhere else then)

So exactly how much will his performance in July be better if he beats Froome fair and square, mano a mano, in the Dauphine? 2%? 5%? Is that the 'part of science' you are referring to? ;)
Once they go into the last and deciding week, probably already starting with Ventoux and the ITT, Im of the belief that the only thing which matters is how much you have left in the tank and by that time, who won Dauphine will be long forgotten.

I have climbed decent 'mountains' before, tho. Climbed Pramartino form both sides in 2011, not that it matter tho :D

Even if it will be 0.01% it can influence a stage at TdF imo,I know you are a guy who only believes to strict numbers, but everything cant be calculated.

Ouch Pramartino,nice ;)

Porte should win this one.I don't think Froome will go too hard here as Quintana is looking more dangerous than ever this year and he's interested in holding his shape longer for Rio.

That's interesting, the TdS rout doesn't suit him very well, lots of steep climbs and not enough km of ITT, but the field should be weaker, so who know.

Yeah, but there isn't a Rettenbachferner in the Dauphine, if we ignore the prologue the climbs of the Dauphine should be better for TJ.

Dumoulin was 10th at the Rettenbachferner, 1.5 minute down. Then Tejay should limit his losses well.

I know this is Dauphine thread, but it looks like these following will go to Suisse and therefore skip Dauphine: TJ, Costa, Sammy, M. Lopez, Frank, Talansky, Barguil, Spilak, Kreuziger, Keldermania, Gesink, F. Schleck, Thomas, Intxausti and possibly Henao. I'd think he would much rather go there.
