Well, if one Mikel has to go home due to sickness, then another Mikel just has to step up and win a stage. :D

Ironically Giovanni's moronic tactic ended up being quite clever as Valverde managed to lose a sprint against Nibali, the greatest of all puncheurs

Nope. If it was for 2nd Valverde would've lost 2 seconds. This way he lost 4.

This sprinting for the bonus seconds is amusing and annoying at the same time.
Amusing 'cause there's clearly a battle between Nibali and Valverde, but annoying 'cause the decisive part of the race is still to come and they're fighting for a couple of seconds already. Do they plan to hold each other's wheel till the end of the race and make it decided on the bonis? Lame.
A bit of class wouldn't hurt anybody.

That's it... I've seen it all.... Nibali outsprinting Valverde... Maglia Rosa for a Costa Rican... Valverde refusing to ride for Amador...
Well, Valverde definitely took pulls in that group on the flat

With thzt perspective it sounds clever indeed, ensuring the second spot for time bonuses. Did not think about that.

Having better legs, that no one probably feel or have, would be a lot more helpful though. :D

Bonuses are 10-6-4. It was even worse for Valverde this way

And another "crucial" stage complete, leaving us again with many unanswered questions.

Disappointing. Think we will see a similar outcome among the GC guys tomorrow.

Might have to wait until Friday/Saturday.

True. Well, then it was really a stupid tactic

Think Valverde did more work on the flat than Nibali, though them getting 1 and 2 in that sprint quite easily shows they're the strongest I think

I couldn't hear Chente well just now, the sound crapped out a bit, but it seemed he said there was no point calling Visconti back because there were several people working in the group so it wouldn't have made a difference

You know that the difference between 2nd and 3rd in time bonus is less than between 3rd and 4th, right? Anyway it almost seemed to me like Valverde didn't want to win that sprint, or he just messed it up, because he thought he would win it easily.
