Nibali's empty.
He can't close a second on the descent.

Descent just too open and easy to make much of a dent on anyone. Gaps are virtually identical for every group from the top

Chaves holding back for his buddy Atapuma?

I don't think he's so ***. Atapuma simply descended great. Also, if they catch him, Chaves is the most explosive one.

lol : Nibali is only 15s behind Chaves/Atapuma...

Was that the one cadel lost the lead?
Yes.Finishing atop Passo Coe

Yeah, he was with the leaders with 7kms to go to the top. Blew so spectacularly that by the time the podium ceremonies ended and the tv feed said goodbye he hadn't finished.

Wasn't the only one. All the GC guys except 2 of them exploded that day. Hell even super-breakaway-man finally bonked for the first time ever that day.

It was so so odd

Atapuma doing a great descent.

Why isn't the second AG2R guy (Monta?) pulling with Valverde and Amador?

I know I dissed Nibali quite harshly last week. But let's not make him a worse rider than he is, just because apparently now it looks he ain't as big as everyone including himself was rating him. It's unfair somehow!
Indeed, it's crazy to write him off for losing 30 seconds on a 5500m mountain stage - when there are still five or six days left to gain huge time.
