How does the team classification work in the giro? Time of the first three riders per team? Surely Movistar has to be leading this then with Valverde, Amador and Visconti. Giro site states Astana is leading and Cannondale 2nd. What am I missing?

It is the finishing time of the first three riders per team on every stage and not in the overall standings.

It's the first three riders in each individual stage, not the first three riders on GC. Basically Astana and Cannondale put more guys in breakaways than Movistar did.

Both Chaves and Kruijswijk have hit the deck already, continued though. Bak, retired.

Random crashes or slippery roads due to anything?

stage 14 meant they lost their lead and then movistar didn't have a rider in the break on stage 18 which moved them to third

It looks like Jack Bobridge will finally be able to finish a gt, will he be able to defend the Maglia Nera on the last stage (he's only 51 seconds ahead of Riccardo Stacchiotti)?
Sadly that would probably be the highlight of Trek's Giro.

I am not trying to denigrate such an impressive accomplishment by Bobridge, but some might argue that winning the points classification is more of a highlight.

Oh snap, I had a brainfart and forgot that Nizzolo is actually riding for Trek.

Perhaps Lotto-NL should have used some of this energy a couple of days ago. Their doms should be out on their feet now if they had done their job properly - not going on speculative breaks.

Oh, so has been confirmed that Nibali has gone back to his proper crank length...

Very interesting. Where did you see this?

His father confirmed it just now at RAI, the change was kept confidential.

Yes, I read on the Gazzetta live feed. If this is the case, then Slongo or whoever had the great idea of changing it should be fired.

Honestly that was exactly what I was thinking. Such a different way of pedalling in these last days.
They really made one hell of a mistake.

Time has been taken on the first passage, so stage neutralized (only time wise).

Ah, ok. I was watching without volume and couldn't understand the strange race situation and why the chasing group was riding like the final 10km of this year's Roubaix.
