The only chance of an interesting raceisbad weather else it's the inevitable bunch sprint. So I'm for wind from the side during the final flat 50km.

I hope this plays out like 2014 with Quickstep out for revenge after a disappointing Omloop, murdering the field to a great extent.

They really should put the circuits at the START of this race, not the end. If Nokereberg was 20km from the line as it would be in such a situation, it'd be a much more interesting race as even though the hard climbs would still be a way from the finish, it wouldn't be the "either awful weather or sprint" race that it is these days.

That's a good idea. Or how about actually going all the way to Kuurne and back again instead of doing a circuit?

There's a circuit at the end so.. From Nokereberg til the circuit is tail/crosswind. The most important section (Kwaremont-Kluisberg) also has favourable wind, but then they turn back north and it's mainly headwind until Nokereberg.

But then it would quite a short race, only 173km or so. Of course, they could find some more hills or do a couple more circuits of the hills and turn come back.

Cycling news updates...

IAM are currently on the stage and signing on for the race. A few drops of rain this morning and that could be a feature throughout the day's racing. We had dry roads during yesterday's racing and the wet conditions will add to the tension.

My bad.

Any streams up yet?

While I watch just about every race, watching Kuurne is like watching paint dry

Don't forget Jans, Bouhanni,

Trek has multiple cards to play : Van Poppel, Stuyven, Nizzolo and Theuns....

I would say judging their results this year Nizzolo will be their man.

Nizzolo quits the race already...
