Gallopin does not seem in top form, but he has demonstrated being able to perform in wet & cold conditions - so he might be seen in the finale. It's around 1 °C now in Liège, and freezing higher up (coldest part of the day).

Apparently the temperature in Liege won't go beyond 3°C today. I hope the climbs won't freeze up or get snow else this race might become the biggest let down of the year.

Every year, we keep asking for rain in Paris Roubaix, and every year, Paris Roubaix has nice, sunny weather, if not some headwind. And now that me and DT given up on rain dancing for the season, Liege gets snow.


Let's just hope they don't have to cancel anything. The extreme weather protocol has been a travesty so far

It's not a fail, but it has to implemented in the right way. Right now they are racing and when things become too big of an problem they will change the course or if hell breaks loose they will cancel it. We can't expect riders to descent on snow covered roads. Let's agree that doing stuff like that is just immoral and crazy.

What happened in T-A was wrong though. Very wrong imo. The way they handled it in Paris-Nice was allready a lot better.

To be fair I don't think they would dare cancel L-B-L, even if they have to parade all the way to Ans. Too much at stake.

This bad weather news is bad news. Bad weather lessens the importance of maintainable w/kg and uphill sprinting abilities and instead generates chaos and unpredictability that make it less likely that the strongest rider wins.
