I fear that would be a bit of a pointless strategy. Etixx will obviously chase, and Katusha later too if Kristoff is in contention. If that's their plan then they really should stop riding now and rejoin the peloton.

They're just being hung out to dry at the moment. Probably should go all in - force Etixx to burn some of their riders and then someone like Gilbert or Debuscheree could benefit.

Nope, there are two left and Lange Munte is usually fairly decisive.

Hopefully he's playing the long game. Hard, aggressive long distance breaks in these races will really set him up well for the monuments.
