I like Bouhanni and his feisty attitude, but the relegation was the right decision

He needs to learn that you can't cut someone up like that

In return ill take the opportunity to nominate Bouhanni for most moronic cyclist in the history of the sport. Id rather see Gerrans win 10 more monuments then to see him mong up another sprint.

Tomorrow's stage is perfect for contador!! He will put a minute in matthews very easy, thomas is a diesel rider and the only threat is porte, dumoulin lost more than 20 seconds in fleche wallonne and mont brouilly is way more difficult. How can flo say that mont brouilly is perfect for matthews? Is just insane
i would not compare FW Dumoulin to Dumoulin now.

Look at how Dumoulin did on the steep hills in the Vuelta, or more recently on Green Mountain in Tour of Oman. I think he'll lose far less than 20 seconds, unless he has a mediocre day

Tomorrow's climb is massively overrated. Watched it from 2 years ago, doesn't seem to be anything in it over 15% or anything.

Bonifazio is so clumsy while sprinting. It's almost unbelievable he can get good results that way.

Yeah about 15km out, it wasn't the finish. Someone on twitter noted it was Matthews who reacted to Bananito's mythical attack :p

Nacer is not happy. :p

"This is nonsense!"
"It was he (Matthews) who first comes in contact."

I like Nacer, but he should just man up on this, it was his fault.

It is much less egregious in the video than I expected from the picture and comments:

Anyway, I'm confused about relegation to third. I thought it was last place or no change, nothing in between.

It's last in the group the sprint was contested in. As there was a time split between Bonifazio and Kristoff, the group contesting the sprint is adjudged to be that of Bonifazio, Matthews and Bouhanni. Therefore, he was demoted to last in that group - 3rd.

The discussion is pretty much done, but I don't understand why people defend Bouhanni.

When they come out of the final corner Matthews leaves Bouhannis wheel to pass him on the left. The moment he does that Bouhanni moves to the side of the road. Obviously aware that Matthews is about to pass him there. At first he leaves atleast a little bit of space for Matthews who isn't intimidated by Bouhanni's first move and keeps on moving up on the left. Then Bouhanni decided to close the gap completely.

It's so obvious. The first extreme line deviation is allready pretty bad, but that happens in a sprint, but the final closing the gap while Matthews is allready next to him is ridiculous.

I don't see any blame on Matthews for this who was allready with his front wheel next to Bouhannis rear wheel when Bouhanni moved to the side of the road.
