In all likelyhood, Gallopin will win this if it comes to a sprint, but he's quite a bad teammate. That said, I still think that Wellens will win the stage.

So what, Wellens is by far the fastest guy in the fron group, Gallopin is riding like Team Gadret.

This, exactly. There is no reason why Gallopin should care whether it is Contador or Thomas who wins it (unless he has some personal problem with either). He didn't threaten Wellens as much as people were suggesting either I think.
