Except he would have won. He has an insane record of winning from a final group in big races, even if he doesn't appear to be the best suited to the finish on paper. He just finds a way to win.

Indeed, what wheelsuck. Brambilla was upfront doing a tremendous ride and had the legs, why would Stybar work and not wheelsuck. There's no added glory for Cance because of that.

Still think Gianluca was the best today and would have won had he not been in the break and doing all those attacks.

Wow Spartacus! Apparently this forum knows it best. Brambilla man of the day, excellent performance. Almost perfect race for EQS, almost.

The last 20km were great but this race needs 20-30km more IMO.

Nice win for Spartacus but man of the race is Brambilla without doubt.

Think Sagan will have to be more ruthless if he wants to start winning races like this. Takes too many turns at the front and lets the wise heads take advantage of that. It's why I love Sagan, for his style, but he could definitely win more races with a different approach.

Yes there is. Stybar was doing what he was supposed to do but it made Fabian's win that much more impressive.

It sounds strange but I think Brambillas attack at the end maybe cost Stybar the win. Stybar might have been stronger than Cancellara on the final ascent but he just didnt want to attack because his teammate was in front. Ofc thats only speculation but I think it could be the case.

OMG!! Super-psyched for Cancellara!! What a legend!

It was a weird final though: both Sagan and Stybar disapppeared, it wasnt even a context. Really strange that Stybar could not even sprint with Cancellara, even though he didnt have to take turns for 15kms.

Sagan should learn from what he did at the worlds. He either goes all out once, or saves it. Not both.

Anyway, beautiful race. What a fantastic ride from Brambila, what a monster win from Fabian, what a nice loser Stybar is.

Indeed great ride by Brambilla. Did everything right and Etixx didn't fail today. From the point that Brambilla started attacking they everything right. Fabian just too strong.
