I think another Czech rider will win this year, but this time it will be Vakoc instead of his teammate Stybar. That guy is on fire the last few weeks. :)

I'm intrigued by what Bakelants will do :p

Vakoc replaced Bakelants in OPQS. One can say team is probably satisfied with this exchange.

I agree that Bakelants also had a strong start to his 2016 campaign, but Vakoc beat him already at La Drome Classic. :p

Right now it looks like we could get a little bit of rain and wind from S/SSW with gusts up to 48 km/h.

On the other hand, I think that both Ag2r and Bakelants himself are very happy with the change of teams as well. Bakelants has been much better since he moved to Ag2r. He was really, really good last fall.

I think the WT will collapse before this race enters it. :p

Sounds like they may have requested WT status for next year if that CN article is to be believed.

That's surprising tbh. We'll see.

Meanwhile, weather forecasts predict rain for Saturday. It starts to get serious now, we're just 3 days away. :D

People, remember that the race will finish at around 15:30 CET, so tune in early!

Can't wait to see the strade bianche in rainy conditions.
Should bring out the Northern classics guys rather than the hilly type guys. I'm curious.

Yeah, looks like the forecast is firming up on the probability of rain for Saturday.

I may be going out on a limb here, but I think the race has been so good without rain, that it may not improve the spectacle. It will be interesting to see it for once, but if you were to ask me whether I would like a wet SB or a wet Roubaix, I would take the latter every time.

I can't wait for Saturday and subsequent days in France and Italy.

Kwiato in the Sky lineup.
That's what I suspected but... source?

Team Sky has announced their SB/PN/TA squad (see their twitter with a link to their website)

Moscon will also ride, should be interesting to see how he will go!

After the last few epic races on cobbles, I can't wait for the white roads of Italy to come. For the last 3 years it was always one of my favorite races of the season. This is proof that not the riders but the course in itself make the race. Stade Bianche never disappoints. At least in my eyes. I really hope they get the WT-status so every top team will send decent riders. That would make it even more awesome. The last few editions have been superb and this race is already a fan favorite. Will EQS make it 3 in a row with Kwiatkowski, Stybar and now maybe Vakoc (who seems to be in good form lately)?
