Movistar was making moves to ride cause Contador crashed. Just admit, they love doing it.

N, they don't love that, and they're not doing it. In fact I remember couple of cases when others do that to them, like in Vuelta 2012, or Tour 2013. If they wanted to ride today, nobody would stop them, including freaking Cancellara!

Look on the previous page at the graphic I posted. The peloton definitely increased its pace after Contador's crash, and movistar was at the head of the peloton at the time

Time will be neutralised but if not would have no effect on overall winners as Chris and Nairo finished on same time

They also slowed down right before his crash and returned to the same speed. The answer is in the graph.

Sam Bennett has been taken to hospital for checks after a high-speed crash at the end of stage 1 of the Tour de France.

Ireland’s only other rider in the event – Birmingham-born Dan Martin – had a lucky escape at the end of the 188km stage from Mont Saint Michel to Utah Beach.

On his day, he can compete with the very best in Tier 1 but he's prone to having a bad day.

Dennis's loss of time seems less of a mystery than that by a few riders who might yet be called upon as Plan B by their team: Fuglsang, Poels, Ion Izagirre and Majka.

Am I alone in thinking today's stage was as poor a GT stage there's been for years.

It didn't make for good viewing.

Come on now, those guys would be plan C-D at best. Tinkoff's plan B is stage-hunting like in 2014.
It made sense to keep those riders away from potential crashes, etc
