If only Astana put multiple guys in the break and Aru attacked for the win on the Bisanne

Oh wait this is the Tour where keeping your place is more important to sponsors (and Sky are too strong)

I don't think that Aru who is a GT winner is concerned about holding 7th place.

Dont understand what Astana is doing. Saving Sky domestiwues by setting the pace? They should be attacking, not pulling

aru wants a stage win,SKY wont pull the break back

Well, then they should have put Rosa&Nibali in the break. Aru is not beating Froome or Porte

have you missed the patented 3rd week astana rider performance boost?

Don't blame Aru for this, it's his first tour. Other guys on the other hand are more at fault. Beside Aru has proven to go FTW as much as he can.

Not blaming Aru, he's shown a few times that he's willing to race

Dumb question: Should BMC drive the peloton hard on this stage? It seems like the team with the most to gain by making the stage hard would be BMC as Porte has the most potential to benefit from a hard stage today. If they don't, could anyone explain why ?

So many stages, I'm totally confused at the tactics of some of the teams... why they either are working or aren't. Commentators aren't as helpful as they could be.

No one cares about Sky anymore. The race is for second place. Race on!

The players are Mollema, Yates, Aru, Porte, Bardet ...kinda Movistar (maybe)

and to a lesser extint Purito, Martin ,Lous M, & Kreuz

Good point. It's not Sky they are racinf with but places 2-6.

Is this not still cycling? There are still 2 stages to go, ANYTHING could happen. And on this thread anything would not come as a shock.

Now they are goingto do aroung Lake d Annecy some of the Km of that ITT Contador won to Cancellara with the cahnge of win. In fact, the begining of the climb is the climb they did in that ITT.

I see what you did there.

Not a dumb question at all. I agree BMC would be well advised to contribute if Astana wear out. I hope we'll see TJVG the super domestique today.

If Froome cracks I'm sure the teams will make adjustments on the fly. Unless that happens there's no point in paying attention to him.

Yup. Obviously, Aru has this in the bag after today, but I reckon Froome can still hold on to a podium spot.

Astana would be better off hitting the hills harder than they are riding the flat, they'll only wear themselves out whilst everyone happily sits in.
Drill the hills and try and dispose of the numbers of others?

Astana is doing what should have been done earlier. The strategy is to put pressure on Sky on the flat and rolling part of the stages. Let Sky ride at 30 to 3 5kms in this section and it's no surprise Sky is strong in the mountains.

BMC should work as Porte has a chance for the stage win, but a ruthless pace all day would favour Aru more imo. Porte is in the mould of Froome, explode on the final climb and make big gains, not in the mode of Quintana were the more mountains in the stage the better he will fare

Astana is keeping the gap constant and the Peloton is still too big.
Expect a tempo increase at the base of second Forclaz.
