Cavendish now thinking:

1. Won 3 stages
2. Got Peta Todd at home
3. Don't have to ride Alps.

"Sounds like a win-win-win I don't make the time cut."
It diminishes his stage wins quite a lot imo, if he pulls out after the first mountain stage. Basically a track rider turning up for the first few days - of course he's going to have a big advantage on flat stages than guys who have also prepared themselves to get over the climbs.

Huh? I don't think anyone is proposing he abandon.
Well missing the time cut and getting thrown out is basically the same thing. A track sprinter picking up a few stages, then leaving the race. Depriving stages from riders who are actually in the shape to finish the race.

I know it has a fairly long tradition in GTs, but for me it diminishes the achievements if a sprinter doesn't complete the race. Moreso, if he never had any intention of completing it.

The best thing for Alberto would definitely be a boring stage, just riding with steady pace up the last climb.. But someone will probably attack in the last km, and he'll lose another minute

Yeah, i expected more from stage like this

more or less the timelimit will be 40 mins,
no way Sagan can make it

Any idea were Cavendish is hanging around?

27' and he's is the last man in the race so Sagan isn't at 40'

Same group as Sagan.

Cavendish and Eisel closed a six minute gap to the grupetto?

Cavendish are not in the gruppetto, I dont know about Sagan, he doesnt appear in the Live Tracker (probably a bike change).
This is what I see:
- grupetto of 50 rides at 24'
- Cavendish and Eisel at 30'

The ultimate Tinkoff collapse would be if Kreuziger went on the attack, and then Contador dropped :O
