Jalabert said that he heard that Contador was also a bit pissed off and gutted by the atmosphere in Tinkoff team... That's why he did not have the will to go on.

Chapeau Campeon! We will always be by your side!!

Not all of us are by his side but its always unfortunate when any rider has to abandon due to injuries or illness

Is anyone good even going to do the Vuelta this year? Will be a very lackluster edition, unless Froome or Quintana do it.

Think quintana has herrada and anacona in the break.
Thanks, looks that way. Full list here of who is left in the break:

Winner Anacona, Jesus Herrada (Movistar), Diego Rosa, Luis Leon Sanchez (Astana), Rafal Majka, Peter Sagan (Tinkoff), Alexis Vuillermoz (AG2R-LaMondiale), George Bennett (Lotto-Jumbo), Mathias Frank, Stef Clement, Jérôme Coppel (IAM), Natnael Berhane (Dimension Data), Tom Dumoulin (Giant), Thibaut Pinot (FDJ), Rui Costa, Tsgabu Grmay (Lampre-Merida), Thomas De Gendt, Tony Gallopin (Lotto-Soudal), Dani Navarro, Nicolas Edet (Cofidis).

Quite a few potential stage winners amongst that lot!

Contador vs. Angel Lopez at the Vuelta is going to be great
Sadly Sagan (if he races the Vuelta) will already have one GT in his legs. It could have been a nice three-way race.

Well, gotta count on CrushWeak, I guess.

Contador is going abandon next few kms.
He should stay in the race, if only to help Sagan win the green jersey.

I think it's bs. He's completely beat up and only wrecking himself.

If he wants to stay, sure, but looking at him last days he should quit. He's only wasting the rest of his season because of putting his body on way to much of pain and no time to recover.
In 2006, Pereiro finished the Pyrenees sick and many minutes behind on GC. Should he have gone home?

I think the problem isn't that he's sick.

At least one of them will probably ride it but it should be a cakewalk for a fresh Bertie unless he's completely shot given everyone else will have at least one brutal GT in their legs

It seems that the divorce between Contador Tinkoff is more than consumated: if this is the case, is there a possibility that he is not selected for the Vuelta by his team?
