I'm highly sceptical regarding any claims that Sky's pace makes it impossible to attack. Not when the group is still this big and the break isn't losing ground that fast.

Rolf Sørensen: "I'm starting to think that they won't catch the break. It all depends how the valley is approached though." :D

Attacking now is pretty *** though, still a lot of flat and false flat.

proof that the Sky train isn't setting a ridiculous pace. The fear of losing is just bigger than the will to win for most riders

That's much too simplistic. It's not only that the current pace, it's the fact that they have Landa, Henao, Thomas, Nieve just waiting to crank up the pace as needed.

I mean in theory, because lots of people here and on Twitter are bringing up Basso's quote from 2012 and what not.

Still though, there's plenty of people who realistically aren't going to achieve zilch by following wheels and who could hope to get a decent group going.

Then teams with several riders (Movistar, BMC, Astana) must accelerated the pace and derail the train. But of course that will never happen.

Are you watching Danish television? :D

But yeah, it's too simple to put it that way.

Exactly, and it's not just about it being impossible to attack. Of course someone like Valverde or Quintana could get away for a short while, but they would be wasting so much energy trying to stay away while Froome still has 5 domestiques to chase them down riding just above threshold.

Look what Portugal has done in the Euro since '00, how do the french deserve it more? xD

At least they beat wales who beat the mighty belgium with tactical genius Wilmots!

They deserve it more because they have played the better football and have actually won their games. History from previous tournaments has no relevance to a present knockout tournament.

Is the altitude gonna hurt Bala today?
Doubt it. They only go above 2000m for about the last 10 minutes. Think he only suffers when half the stage is really high.

If France have played shitty football then what have Portugal played? Besides that crazy game against Hungary they have been utter wank.
