The markets indicate that Froome will win, with Quintana being the second most likely winner. Sounds reasonable.

Though Lil Richie might surprise.

Does Ullrich have the record?

Of course, and no one will come close tomorrow. Although it's 70km shorter than in 1997.
Yeah, I don't think anyone in today's peloton can hope to match a climbing time set by 1997 Ullrich tting up the mountain.

Am I the only one to think the climb towards Arcalis should definitely NOT be rated HC?

Especially considering Col de la Forclaz (13 km @ 7.9%) is 1C.

It's HC because it comes after 4000 metres of climbing.

In 2009 there wasn't 4000 meters of climbing, and it still was HC. However it was the full climb starting from Andorre-la-Vieille, and when you see 1200m of positive ascent it could be worth it if there wasn't over 10km of false flat.

Also in 1997, Arcalis was HC while Courchevel, being twice as long and being a little bit less steep, was 1C.

No you are not. It shouldn't be rated a HC climb.

Don't think Quintana will be able to drop Froome tomorrow. Not sure about the other way around yet, Nairo looks strong but no moves were super powerful today really. I'll take a somewhat wild stab in the dark and say that Purito makes a jump and is allowed to go clear and he holds on for the stage.

Quintana to attack to compensate for the time he lost today, Froome to hang on before countering and dropping Quintana.

Froome..Quintana..Porte...........................Martin..Aru,Bardet,TJ,Valv,Henao.... Irrelvant

Time gaps should be big, especially between the tier 1 guys and the tier 2 guys

Recent history says Arcalis never suited pure climbers. I don't think Quintana could drop Froome and i expect minimal differences

I hope Froome attacks hard and Quintana just stick to his wheel, Tour is still very long.
I hope Purito and Kreuziger confirm their GC ambitions.

Henao attack would be fun too :p

Arcalis is quite a *** climb. It's the same climb they did in 2009, right? When Contador showed Lance for the first time who's the boss?

Froome and Quintana to finish together, Froome winning the sprint, 37 seconds ahead of Dan Martin who sprints to third ahead of Bardet. Wish I could be more specific.

The last 70 km look like a long slog - even LRP won't blow up until next week :) - expect wheel sucking I'd say. (wonder if Sky really wanted the yellow jersey now or it was just Froome getting all pseudo-macho?)

Time for Valverde to prove his worth as a domestique. He needs to set a tempo high enough on the steep part of Beixalis to destroy Sky's remaining domestiques, and then leaving Quintana to battle it out mano a mano with Froome on Arcalis.
