The entire tournament was very disappointing, but I disagree about France. They were one of the few teams who actually tried to put up an offense and were fun to watch at times.

That's much too simplistic. It's not only that the current pace, it's the fact that they have Landa, Henao, Thomas, Nieve just waiting to crank up the pace as needed.

Then teams with several riders (Movistar, BMC, Astana) must accelerated the pace and derail the train. But of course that will never happen.

Only Movistar is strong enough to do that without using up their own leaders. Movistar aren't doing that for tactical reasons. Everyone else simply doesn't have the option. I mean who even is BMC's third strongest climber? Caruso? Look down the GC top 10. Most of those riders have next to no useful support. Certainly they don't have support that can smash up the Sky train.

France is playing at home and have the better team, still not any good football. Portugal doesn't have that
