If they make completely flat stage for sprinters why do they put such corners 200-300m before finish? There is no point for designing completely flat stage for sprinters where sprinters can't actually battle it out.

This is going to be an epic stage. My prediction:
1. Quintana
2. Rolland
3. Dani Navarro

Hover over the profile to see Street View or simply place the pin on the road.

I think bookies got this wrong.

You literally couldn't get a better suited parcours for Cav. That turn so close to the finish means this will be won by the guy with the best positioning + acceleration. Top speed isn't going to come into this, which seriously takes away Kittel's edge. Kristoff has no chance at all tomorrow

Kristoff should do really well here. He can hit the corner pretty much at the front, take the fastest line around it and then do one of his classic 200m long sprints to get the win. Loads of favourites will get boxed in going round the corner and won't even be able to launch a proper sprint. It's a big advantage for guys like Kristoff who can go from long - everyone else is just gambling that they won't get squeezed out.

Yes Kristoff could do well.Sagan chances are speed up on that corner but 200m sprint is too long for him.

Sprint is bad for Cav and for Kittel I think. I see Greipel winning. Looks good for Sagan, but he hasn't won a Tour stage in a flat sprint since 2012 I think

I'd say it's good for Cav. Requires good bike handling, agility and acceleration. Good for Sagan for the same reasons bar acceleration (weaker than Cav's). Bad for Kittel 'cause of his size and need for momentum. Same goes for Kristoff. And Greipel could do well if a teammate launches him right at the exit of corner.
Good finish for a dark horse.

Just deleted several posts.

Please keep this thread about Stage 3 of this years Tour. Absolutely no reason to be discussing Nibali's Giro win and asterisk victories here!

I'm really hoping Cav can continue to add to his winning tally. If he must lose, then Greipel for the win.
