It's either brilliant or Majka is living up to his reputation as the most selfish rider on the squad.

Now Stannard at the front.
Not sure why Sky doesn't leave it to Etixx.

Maybe they have some plans for today. I can't think of any other reason.
I would be surprised if they try something.

Looks like the breakaway (in all its pieces) won't even reach finale.

Would be nice to see a big break stay out for a change instead of being caught in the last 500m.

This break is pretty smart for Tinkoff if they ride to protect Alberto. Majka is free not to work, while it takes the stage win impetus out of the main contenders. Basso is directing out of the car today, and he's a smart guy. Plus get Sagan out of the jersey so Oleg will go away.

They're almost at the low point in the stage, after which they'll have like 45km of false flat and rolling terrain. That's not nothing

I don't quite understand Oleg's obsession of yellow jersey on Sagan. It's a temporary glory. And there, he got a guy who can actually has a better chance to get the jersey for good, still he decided to bring oscar gato instead of hansen to help with that. :surprised:

This is Oleg Tinkoff. Temporary glory is one of his 2 great passions. Short-lived attention is the other

Pretty disappointing if you ask me. Movistar and Etixx with decent chance to grab the yellow and they just don't care.

This!

curious to see how the stage unfolds from here.

It's Oleg. The same guy who fired Riis, Julich, etc... Two of the brighter minds in training, motivation. He probably thinks he could develop Sagan into a Tour winner himself.
