Greg never did anything even remotely similar to this. He only beats Peter if he has a leader, and sits on the wheels. He was a legend, but that's how he rides, now. Heck, maybe he payed for it during all those years of trying to be what Sagan is now, and just falling short.KGB said:Shame Greg is not there.I would like to see How he smoked him instead of Matthews

Easy there, cowboy. While I agree that Boonen didn't had the raw power that Sagan has now, he had the best possible classics team with him and never lost focus, even with coke. Peter seems to enjoy the success a bit too much. Let's hope that he keeps loving riding his bike, even after some hypothetic injuries. But heck, the *** guy never falls!Miburo said:By far the best rider of the year. Sagan is gonna be a better version of boonen. Well he already is just some more classic wins but only matter of time
welcome to the forum. i think he has a great chance at amstel gold race, but liege is more difficult.MacBAir said:I just had to register, what an amazing performance! What a season Peter is having. It was so obvious that he was suffering from so much pressure.
The way that he grinned his teeth and everybody was on his wheel and then they all blow up... Legendary. And what about the descent? He made some tactical mistakes, but the raw power was just too much for the others. Looking at Etix doing all they could just put a smile on my face. Amazing. Albasini did the right thing, attacking right after Sagan made his huge turn.

Guys, mark my words. Liege has Pave. Look whose riders Peter has been smoking on similar circumstances. If he focus on LBL, he is the favorite.
If he goes for the cobbled monuments as his main goal, then he could still be the most dangerous outsider at LBL. I just don't see how anyone would beat Peter if he attacks from the usual group with dozens of tired guys.

You're right, it wasn't a bad move at all.johnymax said:Albasini had the right idea. Sagan was at the front going all out for 500m because of the chasing bunch. We know from the past (Omloop 2016) he has some difficulty sprinting immediately after a strong lasting effort. The Swiss wanted to anticipate a little but went just 50m too early IMO.Mayomaniac said:Albasini went too early.

the guy has worse mentality than betancur and just as fattristecsinamigos said:Rodrigo contreras: 6 minutes behind yesterday, 16 minutes behind today.
What went wrong?
That's turning out to be a pretty good description.Valv.Piti said:3 somewhat hilly days for Sagan.

loooooooooooooooool, he couldn't be as good as boonen but he never will be worse than vanmarcke in cobbles.PremierAndrew said:Miburo said:By far the best rider of the year. Sagan is gonna be a better version of boonen. Well he already is just some more classic wins but only matter of time
Sagan will never be as good as Boonen on the actual cobbled sectors. Sure, Sagan has great rouleur skills which are equally important, but even a Vanmarcke attack on a 5* sector would distance Sagan. Difference is Sagan should be able to catch up to Vanmarcke on the tarmac after the cobbled sector, as Vanmarcke lacks the incredible rouleur skills that the top guys have.

You are basing that on the fact that Peter never had a Roubaix without bad luck/poor form. Let's wait and see for that to happen.trucido said:portugal11 said:loooooooooooooooool, he couldn't be as good as boonen but he never will be worse than vanmarcke in cobbles.PremierAndrew said:Miburo said:By far the best rider of the year. If it's the RvV cobbled climbs then yes Sagan has the edge, but I'd say once Cancellara hangs his boots up there isn't anyone better on PR cobbles than Vanmarcke.
This would of course would benefit Vanmarcke if the entire race was on cobbles, but he lacks the rouleur skills on the tarmac and a sprint at the end to compete with the top guys.
i don't understand this vanmarcke's hype, he beat a old boonen, hayman, hagen and stannard in carrefour de l'abretrucido said:portugal11 said:loooooooooooooooool, he couldn't be as good as boonen but he never will be worse than vanmarcke in cobbles.PremierAndrew said:Miburo said:By far the best rider of the year. Ahaha, And I'm just waiting for a sprint on one of those boring Tour stages where the whole ettix team does a perfect leadout and Peter comes around him.portugal11 said:i'm just waiting for paris roubaix 2017![]()

Tomorrow's the stage to Champagne, right? He should win it unless other teams manage to isolate him.MacBAir said:He certainly has a higher BMI.
