That's what you get with these b riders.
The final 5 days of this edition of the TdS are brutal, 5 hard gc stages back to back is a bit over the top.

Totally. Over the top is an euphemism. It's dumb and grotesque, plain and simple. Awful course design.

I've been wondering that myself. They're all 25 or under, I believe, so there's room for growth. TP seems to be making the steadiest long-term progress. Alaphilippe seems like the most naturally gifted of them all, though whether he'll ever be a TDF guy remains to be seen.

Top 10 and stage wins at the Vuelta wouldn't surprise me, but you're right, Alaphilippe becoming a real gt contender would be a big surprise.BigMac said:yetanothergreenworld said:saganftw said:france has a few good climbers now with tibopino, bardet, barguil and seems like latour as well...now who will make the jump to the next level?

Alaphilippe becoming GT material should be completely ruled out. I wouldn't fancy that tranformation nor do I see it as something that could actually happen.

Ugly riding style, dumb face, rides for BMC, scared of zika, overrated as **** and rides after teammate
What's there to like?
He's got a pregant women at home. If anything, he showed guts and brains to skip the freaking Olympics.
Overreacting seems more like it. Oh well we won't miss him

The Giro has very little to do with today.
He was the best climber in the group and contributed next to nothing. When Wellens tried to force him to work with them, he seemed to do it at first, only to just let the wheel in front of him go a few seconds later. It's not even 'a tactic'.
Other than that I like him though.

True. And Hnik, I'd expect him in front of Vakoc too. Sad...Mayomaniac said:Today Vakoc was the best Czech rider, on a MTF in a race with both König and Hirt in it, who would have thought that?

Kwibus said:The Giro had a lot to do with today. There was a stage where Atapuma did all the work, constantly attacked only to be beaten by the rider that waited and waited.
Also the stage where they caught him at the line he did a lotmof work as well. This time he played the tactic card. Not the prettiest and when your a supporter of Wellens like you are it's frustating to watch, but in the end he finally he got his victory and that's what matters.
If I didn't see the Giro I probably wouldn't have liked Atapuma winning so much, but with the Giro in mind I'm realllly happy for him.

Must be some kind of a record to fall that much in one season. He falls nearly every race
