Good idea. Exciting finish tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to seeing the Østengård climb in action before they reach Vejle. The stats are quite nice for a danish climb - 930 meters at 8.2%.
Yes, that's a nice climb, with a maximum of 18%. However, the Gammel Kongevej climb which comes a few kilometers later is even more demanding: 560 meters with an average of 12.1%. It has less vertical meters than Østengård, but is steeper and has a maximum gradient of 19.5%.

Here is Gammel Kongevej last year:

Raining a lot right now. The riders are starting on a cobbled section, so high risk of crashes in the first turn. Will be ridden fast today, with a combination of long flat stretches and smaller hills and descents. Rain could be decisive as it is forecasted to end before the favourites.

Rain has stopped and cobbles are dry. Will be decided by who is the strongest on the two fast stretches for sure. I doubt Valgren could win it, but he will keep the jersey.

Just rode the climb with my wife, on our regular bikes. Amazing view from the top (well, remembering that we are in Denmark), but the landscape is not really that scenic in rain and cloudy weather.

Valgren should have this in his bag. Can he even win the ITT?
If the weather is the same for everyone Jos van emden should take this one pretty easily. Valgren to make top 10 or even top 5, but for the win there are better specialist (Van emden,Bialoblocki,Mads wurzt, keizer, Boom and Soren Kragh andersen)

2016 Tour of Denmark

Mads Würtz Schmidt takes the TT win for the 2nd year in a row. I like what Daniele Bennati said about Mads Würtz Schmidt after Bennati's stage one victory although Bennati diddn't really know who him at all:

"I attacked with Valgren and then I attacked a second time with a super strong guy who I think is a Danish rider?"

Re: Stage 2 of Tour of Denmark, exciting finish

Mads Würtz Schmidt won the TT (stage 4), a handful of seconds ahead of Lars Boom.

New classification before the final stage in Copenhagen, with Valgren now only 12 seconds ahead of Cort who may go for bonus seconds on Sunday:

1 Michael Valgren Andersen Tinkoff 13:07:12

2 Magnus Cort Nielsen Team PostNord Danmark 0:00:12

3 Mads Würtz Schmidt Team Virtu Pro-Veloconcept 0:00:56

4 Michael Gogl Tinkoff 0:01:20

5 Christoph Pfingsten Bora-Argon 18 0:01:21

6 Gijs Van Hoecke Topsport Vlaanderen - Baloise 0:01:32

7 Alexander Kamp Stölting Service Group 0:01:40

8 Laurens De Vreese Astana Pro Team 0:01:41

9 Marco Marcato Wanty - Groupe Gobert 0:01:43
