Boasson Hagen was never likely to get back on in that wind, in hindsight it was a mistake to leave Cav isolated given that he was second in GC and favourite to take the stage win. Fair play to Cavendish for getting the team out of trouble, a pretty impressive effort to still be there at the finish with no support.

Bennett was there at the end and had to come back from an early split ....And he beat Cav in the finale...but Cav is the super rider ???

Not sure I know what you are talking about. I did not call Cavendish a super rider and I did not criticise Bennett. Cavendish leads Bennett by 41 seconds by the way and leads GC,

I never said you did but your praise today imo is misplaced ...And I am well aware of the GC

Only six riders finished on the same time as the winner. It was pretty impressive that Cavendish was able to stay there against some strong classics riders with no team support. Especially for someone who is widely considered to be a 'pure sprinter'.

I think Cav did fine. Most of the people in the front group was clearly cooked in the finale and BMC and Katusha where incredibly strong.

Lotto Jumbo *** up though, really woeful to have the entre team in the back of the group in the last k, they should at least have been able to put Moreno on the wheel of Bennet or Cav.

I just watched it. Perfect job by Katusha, waiting till the final 1,5K and then a killing speed, wow. LottoNL completely smoked. I have to say that their performance until the last 1,5K was very good, to be there with the whole team. But well, it's all about winning..

btw GVA also very impressive, the only one who could hold Kristoff's wheel

Poor Edvald... I hope karma bounces back massively in the monuments and then I want to see him pull a Hushovd in the Tour mountains :)

Yeah, I was quite impressed by his sprint, he wasn't gonna beat Kristoff but he didn't get gapped at all. I think GVA is really ready for the classics, his TT skills have also improved drastically in the last year.

Bennett and Cavendish made a mess of the approach to the sprint. It's forgivable because they were probably exhausted at that point, but it was still a mess.

So the critism is useless. They were exhausted. The way it was raced today it could only be won by Kristoff or GVA simply because it was a true hardmens race.

Lotto Jumbo rode a good race they just messed up the final part. The guy that was leading Hofland out and wasnt pulling in the last 10km simply couldnt hold the Katusha wheels. Hofland himself better couldve picked those wheels himself.

That guy was Tom Van asbroeck, he is fast but I think that mike teunissen can do better as a leadout man, he seems to be in better shape and is stronger in the wind.

Quite some interesting scenarios regarding the overall victory can come into play because of the bonus seconds.

Breakaway may well mop up the first intermediate sprint.

If that had been Froome in the leader's jersey he would have kicked off about being attacked after having a mechanical

Hmm perhaps. However, the gap is coming down quickly now and still 20 km's to the sprint. It's a very interesting situation for Katusha.

What positions get bonuses at the sprints and finish?
3-2-1 at the intermediate and 10-6-4 at the finish. Looks like the break will take the next sprint as well.

Cheers, just tuned in. What are DD doing up there with Katusha. Possibility of echelons?

The break is certain to take the next bonus seconds as well, so no risk for DD.

Five years is too long, he could get some other awesome stage wins like Pinerolo.

TEAM DIMENSION DATA WINS! that was the important thing

Cav gets the final GC. Kristoff should win at the photofinish
