Didn't expect Froome to struggle 10km from finish.
I always thought he'd have to let his form go, to recover from a perfect peak at the TdF.... and hope to race back into shape?

Froome has had his bad day before (remember the gel at Alpe d'Huez in 2013). The difference is he's not the best climber in the Vuelta, unlike in the Tour.

Though it could also simply be over, but a bad day is still more likely. Though this is a serious blow to his attempts to win the Vuelta. It will be very hard, unless the other favourites also implode.

Edit: And obviously this isn't the same as the Tour. That was him riding his own pace, but staying within striking range of everyone. Here he's left an actual gap. Though he might still be able to contain the damage if he paces himself well.

Movi tearing it up
I'm not sure they are. They're not exactly reeling in Rolland. In fact, losing time to him and Gesink in the last km.

Very strange for Froome to have gone in these circumstances.

Genuinely think he's cracked, this would be the finest resurrection yet.

Valverde looking shaky but berto looks very sharp
