Yeah incredible. All that work and they're burned out so early they fail to drop Contador off at the front at the bottom of the climb.

More likely he wants to increase his chances of a stage win because he's so far down on GC he'll be given more freedom. Regardless of how he's feeling

It's weird, froome never yoyo's in the tour. I guess cause then he's just far above the rest that he doesn't need to and cause of the train.

The problem is having to make up ground at the bottom of the climb forced him to use energy he can't really afford to lose. They worked to hard so no-one was left to position Contador. And in doing so they decreased his chances of victory significantly. Better to give the break another 30 seconds or so and save a bit of energy.
