Risking everything in the breakaway win

By picking a guy who won just once in his career of 13 years? :D

"Risking everything"

Only god can judge me

Good job on these threads, Flamin. Enjoying the information and the little write-ups.

I like the stage. Not hard enough to be GC-relevant, but should be a good battle in the break.

That's what they said about Fuente De ;)

That's not a bad call . . . the last 4 riders to finish the stage today were all Tinkoff riding in together . . . clearly making it a 2d rest day for them before some fireworks ahead. Tomorrow? Or Saturday?

 Tinkoff chased the break down. Did you see the stage or is this sarcasm?

p.s. with regard to my Felline prediction, I forgot that Gilbert is riding. It's a good day for him.
Or dare I say it, Simon Gerrans *shudder*

Just typing the name makes my skin crawl...

Hopefully Gesink jumps into the breakaway group once again today. If only to pick up a few points for the polka dot jersey and to test himself for Saturday! :)

Thanks Flamin for the work put in on the thread - who'll win? Breakaway I'd bet. Gilbert seems fav. GC guys will take it easy on the descents. Valverde to sprint for 15th spot! :)

I wonder if Movistar will ride. it would be a stage for Valverde but if Froome repats his TdF descending skills it might backfire...

Perhaps Tinkoff will work again or Orica....

Most of the obvious names have already been mentioned - LL Sanchez, Felline, Brambilla, Gilbert.

Two others that come to mind are Atapuma and Zeits.

Hansen will go into the break, I think.

Quite similar to stage 8 of the Tour, would love to see Froome go full *** on the descent again, especially with a flat stage tomorrow, but can't see it happening

Before the guys in the break start spending any energy, they need to make sure Lulu Sanchez and Felline are there with them.

Maybe Contador will try something. He doesn't have anything to lose, there is a flat stage on the next day and he really needs time. Put one or two riders into the break so they can help him after the top of the last climb and it might work.

I wouldn't call yesterday's stage a rest day for the Tinkoff domestiques. They spent a large portion of it drilling it on the front chasing down a 20+ man break. That might explain their placement in the stage results.

TdF roles reversed, 2 Sky's in today break. Going for stage win with Kennaugh and Lopez or they will wait at the top of the last climb for a downhill Froome attack?

i'm certain they don't go in break for team classification like Movistar :)

Quite a bizar break for a stage like this. Whats wrong with the usual 30 man break without GC threats getting 20 minutes?
