Froome would not have caught back on if Quintana had just ridden the whole way. But instead they found it more important to give Ruben Fernandez a stage win than gain time on Froome, and then they don't even get the stage win because they didn't know how many riders were in the break. Awful.

On another note, Valverde showed in final 100m that he saved himself during whole year by riding 3 GT's.
