Nothing too bad but a little sketchy from Majka there in the end.

Just watched the last 6 K. I was thinking the same thing...guess I wasn't dreaming.

So, a broken collarbone, a concussion, and road rash on what looks like a quarter of his body for Skujins. Honestly, it could have been worse the way he was stumbling around and falling in that bend after the crash. Can't believe he tried to continue but he certainly didn't look to be all there, just looked like he was on autopilot.

He's quite lucky he didn't crash again, or cause someone in the second group to crash into him.

Normally with concussions, the rider knows it's been a hard hit and stays down for quite a while. Can't remember ever seeing someone so out of it try to continue.

Why on earth didn't the guy who picked up his bike help Skujins? It was obvious he was completely out of it. Very lucky he didn't wobble into someone from the group who passed him and cause another serious incident.

Actually, Bennett could just have taken the inside line of the curve. Seems more like a matter of Bennett taking a very stupid decision to try come past on Majka's left-hand side. Nothing sketchy about the situation.

Majka bossed that last km like Valverde in the Ardennes. Closed down everything and then led the sprint out from about 300m. Impressive stuff.

Bennett definitely walked right into it. Should have gone to the other side

Athletes suffering concussions are well known to misjudge the extent of the problem. Just look at football players.

Yes, he looked like a boxer who tried to get up after a brutal KO, it was hard to watch.

The aftermath of that crash was difficult to watch. The first collapse should have been enough for the marshall to lead him off the road but of course the rider was on autopilot and probably trying to convince people that he was okay. Could have been a lot worse.

Once Toms was up, the mechanic was checking the bike, as per his training. He's not seeing things from the same angle we are. And also, it didn't get to this, but Skujins was probably phased out in a fight mindset at that point, it would have been literally a struggle to get him to stop.

I agree that neutral support should have some more discretion there, but do we really want them to administer concussion tests before allowing riders back on their bikes in all post-incident situations? It's not that easy a call, IMHO.

To be fair in the tour of Flanders Vanmarcke fell and the spectator touched him to see if he was ok and got an all mighty elbow and a *** off. I wouldn't go out and touch them. Cyclists have zero respect for road side fans

That crash and watching him stumbling and trying to remount was painful. Not the mechanics job/focus but man I was hoping somebody was going to stop him from wandering into the chase group or trying to go again. He almost crashed again after wobbling into the curb. It was a looooong time before the team car stopped him, unless the footage of it was shown delayed.

Timeline from the stream - crash at 1:06:43. They cut back to him riding (and Rally team car slowing to ask if he is OK) at 1:22:04, then finally the Cannondale team car stopped to flag him down and get him to retire at 1:22:42. He was at least not so clearly dazed by then but that was a long time where something bad could have happened. Had a medical car checked him in that 15+ minutes?

Until they cut away from the initial crash aftermath I was worried I'd see him getting nailed by the chase or crashing again on the downhill since his motor skills and thinking were clearly impacted.

I've been on the finishing streets in Moro the climb probably 4 to 8% probably around 5% climb and maybe 150 to 200 meters medium hills I'd say 4% from memory, flats at intersections, the climb will make it better for Sagan.

What is the name of the street where the finish line is placed?

Look on google maps I have two tabs with this discussion but with tour tracker on other my browser burps some sort of Add in background is iffy. There is a street that comes up from the warf look for the entrance to the bay and there are shops and a road that runs straight east-ish that is the finishing straight and at the top of the mild hill about three or four intersections should be the finish.

I have to occasionally close and reopen tab OH well.

I know that road into Morro Bay in my opinion I think they will be running late maybe after the top of the hour so we may get split coverage... they just said they will get in on time but we will see.

This move by Wolfe knowing those roads has a chance a very small chance but if it was Jensie I would say 20% chance but less for Wolfe.

In the U.S.A. we will get a quick close and will have to wait for trimmed coverage for jersey presentations should have started race 20 minutes earlier.
