He has ridden 12 races since February. However, he DNF'ed his last two. He was supposed to race the TT in the Pan American games, but was a no-show as well. Back in April he changed his program a bit, with the team stating Costa is not sick or injured, he's just changing his program "a little bit." I'm starting to believe the opposite.

Errr... World Champions are riding in the regular team kit, right?
Coz I saw an interview with Dideriksen, and while it was really only her head in the image, it sure looked like she was wearing her rainbow jersey from what I could see.
Or maybe she'd been riding in the regular kit, and then taken a rainbow over-jersey-thingy... on afterwards. It hasn't exactly been super hot in Denmark these few days.

I just think I read somewhere that World Champions - and other champions - ride in their regular kit during Nat Champs, what with the jokes about the only RR Sagan wears regular kit is that race.

Iirc Boonen rode the nationals in the Rainbow jersey.

Okay, so Neben definitely wore her rainbow jersey (haven't found any picture from the German ITT), so I guess the "only RR Sagan wears regular team kit" talk wasn't actually true.
Sagan never wears regular team kit during road races.

well, last year sagan didn't wear the rainbow jersey on the National RR , you can see some replays of the race

And I suppose wearing the rainbow jersey really does make sense. For many riders this might be one of the few chances they get to wear it on their home turf.
In fact, I think Sagan might be one of those riders, there aren't that many Slovakian bike races, and even then only half are actually on his home turf, what with the Czech+Slovak double-race.

That Sagan talk might have been from before he was WC.

As for Sagan, last year he rode the National Championship in the regular team jersey and there was actually a discussion if that was according to the rules. Probably someone found out that it was not as he then put on the rainbow jersey for the ceremony and rides in rainbow jersey also today. So I think we may conclude that world champions are expected to wear the jersey also in their national championships.

Right, so Bardiani has been banned for clinicey reasons, but - due to some weird rule loophole - the riders, other than Pirazzi and Rufoni, can still ride since the Nat Champs is classified as being an "individual" race, or something like this. However, I thought the catch was that the riders could not ride in their Bardiani kit... well, I've seen photos, and they are.

Somehow it's ok for the Italian federation, but many people are mad, and I can understand them.
They shouldn't be allowed to ride with the team jersey and from what I've heard they even have a ds in the team car, that's a joke.
Edit: No Celano on the startlist, but Nocentini and Papi Rebellin are both racing, I'll probably cheer for them. :D
