Sagan and GVA had to get rid of the dead weight in their group but the group stayed compact up the top of Kruijsberg. No way they're going to get rid of them until Kwaremont where it might be too late to catch Phil. Incredible race.
I don't even think GVA/Sagan will drop the rest on Kwaremont. They are working too much.

45% Sagan 45% GVA 10% the rest of the group

Sagan should stop pulling. Not enough work rate from others in that group and he's already won this race. They're not going to catch Gilbert in any way.

Just stroll to the line now with your mind on Roubaix.
What a loser attitude, sorry.

Especially if you believe his former DS at Liquigas. Keeps saying Sagan will never win Roubaix

If Phil succeeds it's the most incredible win I've ever witnessed
It's this and Boonen's PR in 2012 for me, pretty close though.

I seem to recall Museeuw in Roubaix attacking from like 50k out. Never seen anything like that.

I wonder if Phil can compete in the Ardennes too after this and match or even surpass his insane 2011 season. Not sure he has the pure power to win Roubaix but if he did he'd only need Milano San Remo and he'd have all monuments under his name.

It's not even an 'if'.

Win is certain.

Looks like another premature ejaculation.

Never learn, people. Never learn.

Hope I'm wrong.
Gap only at 52 seconds. Gilbert can still crack.

Difefrent scenario, if I'm not mistaken. It can happen, but I have no reason to think Gilbert will crack massively. He has been too good.

Again, it can happen.

Re: 2017 Tour of Flanders / Ronde Van Vlaanderen - April 2,

One day a person will look at the palmares of Gilbert and ask himself "what the hell happened to that guy between 2012 and 2016?"

Edit: I'm not 100% sure if it's over though.

These feats always leave me dry. Just like dominance at the stage races, etc.

I mean it is a special kind of ridiculous when a single rider comfortably holds back a committed group. The gap has been around a minute for 15k now.

It is a lone rider against a group, very similar to Nice stage. There are also a lot of flat kms.

Sagan, GVA and Naesen will destroy the group at OK... will take lots of time on Gilbert there.

Btw, it's really proper for a ride like this to be done in the belgian champion's jersey, even if he gets caught in the end.
