I am grown up, thank you LaFlo. Your constant digs at me make me wonder if you are... its obvious in this race thread you are pretty sore after Valverde sprinting away from Contador on the stage he was supposed to win. I would be as well.

Well he's gone backwards in the last few years, so he's lost something. Given how he bottles it in every major race that he's been leading - I think gutless is a fair allegation. Team should have gone with Sanchez as leader, a better climber and a better character.

I've never been a fan of Valverde but doing the 3 GT's last year, I must admit I am starting to warm up to him a bit.
And hats off to him for not doing the boring old "follow-wheels-and-sprint-for-the-win"-tactic.

He lost 1'46 or something similar the last 5 kilometres.
Basically the same he did in T-A.

He just isn't better. It must be frustrating considering his showing at the 2012 TdF, but its just how it is.

My frustrations were not at you but Tejay. The regressions of this man is amazing, he has zero redeeming features now. He can't podium GTs, one week races are long gone and he can't do one day races. Sanchez is out performing at 39

When you are the only rider out 1000 professionals from continental to pro who rides low gear high cadence it's brutally annoying and you question every thing. Cannot stand the man

Look like he at least tried to limit losses as best he could, would have been much easier to not fight and sit up. Just not good enough at the moment.

It was probably a good idea that Valverde's team got punished in the TT. Made him more angry and aggressive in the race.

Hope he wins the next two stages as well.

Soler and Gaudu were even more impressive than Valverde himself. Hopefully nothing gets in the way their development. Valverde really wanted to show everyone, who is the boss.

Had almost forget, how disgusting Froome's yo-yoing looks like, his retirement can't come soon enough. Contador looks unable to sustain the power to keep the gap after the initial acceleration. Thomas was surprisingly week, expected much more of him after T-A.

Indeed. He's an absolute nothing rider now. He's got no anaerboic power, can't sprint, can't climb anywhere near the best any more, and is always getting ill or just giving up when it gets tough. And yet he still commands a spot on one of the biggest teams as leader in most races, because of what he did years ago. BMC saw the writing on the wall though I guess last year when they signed Porte.
