The most puzzling part for me - and I realize I've criticized the french selection before - is that he says Démare and Bouhanni weren't in top form or motivated for this race. Fine....so why not Coquard?

Mybe for Wellens, for Belgium certainly not.
 
Interesting situation.
The breakaway could even enter the final lap in front, with the bunch willing to hold them under a minute.
Italians showing at the head of the bunch, but I doubt they want to close this down.
