How hard is the climbs and cobbles in this race? If a team or someone would try and make it hard from where the first climbs start on the map and forward that would probably drop the sprinters right?

There are no flat cobbled sections to speak of, but the Kemmelberg is the hardest climb of Flanders, going by the statistics. The main problem is that it's rather isolated (the surrounding climbs are nowhere near as difficult). It's also the last climb. So the main favorites are waiting for it, but if there hasn' t been a major selection, there's a big chance of regrouping. Even more so because there's still more than 30km to go.

10:20 now, too much? Maybe not, but they really have a lot of faith in their pursuit

Not concerned about the break, more concerned about the lack of attacks by the favorites. At least the secondary favorites.

Why on earth would they attack now already? Way too soon, the hills still need to come.

Sorry, I thought there was only 63'2 km to go. But it turned out to be the gap to the break (6'32).

The problem is that there isn't any Kittels or Cavs in the race.

It's all sprinters who are decent cobbles riders like Groenewegen, Viviani and Démare. It's not a walk in the park to eliminate those guys.

Actually Kittel is riding this race.

The break still has a very strong advantage so if this breaks up a select group could really drive it forward. I expect to see gaps soon.
