Gravel is cool, but I don't really see the point of riding a serious bike race on those ultra-narrow "roads". Seems like gimicky way to make a race more difficult by introducing an element of randomness.

The plugstreets have created small splits in the peloton.

It's an alternative way to enjoy the Flanderian countryside.

TV motor 1 is WAY to close to the 1st group. What is it with Gent Wevelgem and motors?

I think it's done very tastefully. The gravel was pretty easy, but the roads were narrow and exposed, perfect to secure the pace is high between the two Kemmel ascents.
