If they had attacked on that 5% climb, then they wouldn't have gained much time on Froome, if any at all.

Could Yates do a Cancellara and try to bring about a period of neutralisation?

I think the difference is between crashing (rather stupidly) and simply not having the legs.

Why have they waited until he is three minutes down to send riders back? They might have missed the boat on this scenario and only adding to their problems now, in respect to the long term of the Giro.

I like him too, and I think I "know" him well enough to be pretty sure that he'll do everything it takes to help Yates win now.

Seeing Chavito distanced because of a crash while everyone would reach for their brakes when Froome has a scratch on his pinkie is a hard pill to swallow tbf. The only one who usually gives zero fucks is Aru.

Froome and Sky have frequently spouted the moral high ground about such things when their leader has had an issue (even a self inflicted one) but they were first to the front today. Utterly (and predictably) hypocritical.
